Thank you for stopping by! I am a self-taught photographer and artist residing in Washington State in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have been a serious amateur photographer since the boom of digital photography in the early 2000’s.
Primarily a nature photographer, My focus is on intimate landscapes, water and flora. I am particularly drawn to close-up details of flowers and plants, landscape vignettes, and long exposures.
Beyond digital photography, I also create “Alternative” or “Camera-Less” art in the form of cyanotype photograms, or sun prints. Cyanotype is an old blueprint technique dating back to 1842. It involves placing objects or digital negatives on chemically-treated paper and exposing the composition to the sun or UV light. Exposures can last from mere minutes to many hours. My botanical cyanotypes are almost exclusively curated from plants in my yard and garden. It is no exaggeration to say that I live amongst the ferns! I gravitate towards the “wet” cyanotype method, where common household elements are introduced to the paper prior to exposure, resulting in varying color tones and textures. I love that each print is unique and can never be replicated.
